Micron's Infinite Money Glitch with Memory

Grab a MICROSLOP T-SHIRT! https://store.gamersnexus.net/products/microslop-parody-t-shirt Micron has discovered an infinite money glitch: Just keep increasing the price, or something. It was that simple all along. Micron's consumer margin is now a disgusting 90%, multiplying what they make versus prior quarters. That's in spite of the company killing Crucial in December of last year, which was its direct-to-consumer line of system components. The company still has consumer parts, but seeing them continue to skyrocket in margin and price after cutting Crucial tells us just how much money these companies are making. In its latest earnings report, Micron noted that it expects the "shortage" to continue into 2027 and 2028 at least, with several of its customers -- like the big AI hyperscalers -- wanting contract extensions beyond 2030. DDR3 Rides Again, ft. Wendell of Level1 Techs

Sponsor: ID-Cooling Frozn A620 SLK on Amazon https://geni.us/Vc8Zi We talk with Wendell about cool, older hardware that's still useful -- especially for self-hosting and bringing services into your own hands. The unfortunate reason DDR3 has once again found modern usefulness is due to the memory pricing crisis, perpetrated by AI companies -- namely, NVIDIA -- and the memory companies who supply them. Corsair WARTHOG Gaming PC Case Review | Thermals, Noise, & Throwback

Sponsor: Lexar Play MicroSD Cards on Amazon: https://geni.us/fUQYvq and Play Pro on Amazon https://geni.us/WC89AO The Corsair Warthog gaming PC case is a true throwback to an older era of PC building -- when RAM was affordable and NVIDIA hadn't begun its descent into AI psychosis -- and the case does well to bring it back. It has its downsides, but the biggest upside is that it's based on the already well-received Corsair Frame 4000D. We liked the Frame 4000D case in testing, so all of those aspects carry over. The Warthog stops making sense if you're not into its look, especially with the $180 to $200 price point that brings it into competition with a ton of other cases. Memory Companies Have Destroyed the Consumer Market

Sponsor: Thermal Grizzly Duronaut on Amazon - https://geni.us/tpgcPMw The cyclical nature of memory manufacturing may finally be broken -- and not in a good way for consumers. The memory manufacturers have all moved toward long-term agreements with longer terms and capacity than previously, with Micron, Samsung, and SK Hynix diverting a flood of memory away from consumers. At the same time, Amazon has publicly stated that more users than ever will consider its cloud services due to the rising costs of on-location hardware. But don't worry: By 2035, Micron will save us all. NVIDIA Has GPUs If You Have Coin

Sponsor: Thermal Grizzly Duronaut on Amazon - https://geni.us/tpgcPMw GPU prices have become a meme, with NVIDIA leading the pack at (on average) 70% over listed MSRP for its consumer and gaming video cards. AMD and Intel are likewise running higher prices than previously, reaching new highs for GPU prices in our year-long series tracking them. November of 2025 seems like it was the best time to buy, with prices now climbing even past what we saw in February of 2026. This continues to get worse with thanks to the ongoing DRAM availability crisis thanks to AI data center buildout -- one largely caused by the very companies that make the consumer GPUs. The best way to support our work is through our store: https://store.gamersnexus.net/ Like our content?
